HOT CRAB DIP

famous kraft recipe. Make it ahead and pop in the oven when ready
- 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups crabmeat, drained flaked
- 2 tbsp finely chopped onion
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp horseradish, cream-style
- 1/16 tsp pepper
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted
OVEN STEW

Similar to, but with a different flavor combination than Gibson stew
- 1 lb stewing beef, cut up
- 1 large onion, cut up
- 1-2 potatoes, cut up
- 1-2 carrots, cut up
- 7 1/2 oz can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth or buillion
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
VEGETABLE SOUP

Oliver Family Cookbook - try
- 3 medium onions (diced)
- 2 medium carrots (diced)
- 2 stalks celery (diced)
- salt & pepper to taste
- 50 ml. canned tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 litre chicken stock

- SAUCE:
- Chicken breasts (package) - 1 per person or cut up chicken.
- Fry in pan until nicely browned on both sides. Use about 1/4 to 1/2 cup butter (not oil) Lift out and place in large casserole dish. Pour sauce over.
- NOTE: I find 1/4 cup butter too much and will cut back to 1/8 cup.
- 1 tsp minced onion
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp celery seed or celery salt
- 1 tsp savory
- pinch of ginger
