YEAST BISCUITS

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, mixing well
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt

- 1 cup butter flavored shortening
- 1 package dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 2 cups buttermilk
ORANGE LAYER CAKE

Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of electric mixer
- Orange Filling:
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
- 2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 egg yolks. slightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1-1/2 teaspoons grated orange rind
- Orange Buttercream Frosting:
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter softened
- 1 1lb. box powdered sugar, sifted
- 4-6 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
STIR FRIED NOODLES

Cook noodles in large pot of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite, stirring occasionally
- 8 ounces dried chow mien noodles
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
- 2 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon mild flavored (light) molasses
- 2 tablespoons canned unsweetened coconut milk
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 1 teaspoon chili-garlic sauce
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped peeled fresh ginger
- 2 large garlic cloves minced
- 2 green onions cut into 1” pieces
- 2 jalapeno peppers seeded and chopped
- 2 cups thinly sliced Napa cabbage
- 3/4 cup each matchstick size strips red and green bell peppers
SHRIMP SHANGHAI DIP

- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoons Asian sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon hot chili oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 3 thin green onions, including green tops, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon finely minced fresh ginger root
- 1 small clove garlic, peeled and minced
TACO BELL SEASONING MIX

SMOTHERED COVERED HASH BROWNS

- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil divided
- 1 (16 oz.) package frozen shredded hash browns thawed
- 1 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoons pepper
- 8 American cheese slices
PORK RIBS WITH HOISIN BARBECUE SAUCE

- Pinch white pepper
- 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 3-4 tablespoons oil, for frying
- Dipping Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
RICE CHEESY MUSHROOM & PEAS

- 1 package frozen peas cooked and drained
- 1 jar sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese spread, cubed
- 2-1/4 cups cooked rice
