Sift together dry crust ingredients in a large bowl
- Crust:
- 2-1/2 Cups Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/3 Cup Shortening
- 1 Egg, Beaten
- 1 {6-1/2- ounce} Can Evaporated Milk
- Oil for Frying
- Filling:
- 1 Cup dried fruit, {apple, peaches, apricots, figs,prunes} per recipe
- 2 Cups Water
- Sugar to Taste
- Spices to taste:Cinnamon,Nutmeg, Cloves,Allspice

- Whole Wheat Flour 4 oz.

- Water, warm ½ cp.
- Honey ½ tbsp.
- Blended Oil 1 tbsp.
- Water, cold 1 cp.

- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

- 2 heaping tbs. flour
- 2 cups milk
