Cranberry Chutney

- 4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, picked over and stemmed
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 whole cloves
- 2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 (6-ounce) Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch dice
- 2 (6-ounce) firm Bosc or Anjou pears, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch dice
- 1 small (5-ounce) yellow onion, diced
- 1 cup golden raisins

- Crust:
- 1 c + 2T all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c sugar
- 1/4 t salt
- 7 T unsalted butter, chilled & cut into small pieces
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 T ice H2O
- Filling:
- 4 lg eggs, @ room temperature
- 1 c sugar
- 2/3 c whipping cream
- 1/2 c fresh lemon juice (~3 lemons)
- 2 t vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for sifting
Sour Cream Ice Cream with Caramelized Pear Compote

- 1 container (16 ounces) sour cream
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 vanilla bean , split open or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 stick cinnamon (optional)
- 2 teaspoons brandy
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 3 large firm-ripe Bartlett pears , peeled, cored and thinly sliced
Mango Smoothie

SUMMER SALAD WITH PEACH-WALNUT DRESSING

- Dressing
- 1/3 cup walnuts, toasted
- 1/2 cup chopped peaches
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
- Salad
- 1 head green leaf lettuce, leaves washed and torn into bite-size pieces
- 1 head red leaf lettuce, leaves washed and torn into bite-size pieces
- 2 peaches, halved, pitted and thinly sliced
- [1 red onion, thinly sliced]
- 1 cucumber, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted
Slow Cooker [Turkey] with Sage and Stuffing

Set this meal to cook early in the day and you won't have much to do to prepare dinner in a hurry
- 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cups baby carrots
- 1/2 cup chicken broth*
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped sage
- 6 to 8 bone-in, skinned chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 (10-ounce) package stuffing mix with cranberries, prepared according to package directions*
