Ingredients

  • 6 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 6 T unsalted butter
  • 1.5 c sugar
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 4 lg eggs
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 sheet of vellum for stencil
  • Silver sanding sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease & flour a 13"x9" baking pan. Set aside.
2. Place a metal bowl into a pan of barely simmering water; put in both chocolates & butter; stir until melted. Remove from heat; let cool until lukewarm.
3. Stir in sugar & vanilla, then add eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Incorporate salt & flour into batter, then fold in chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan; smooth top w/a spatula.
4. Bake for 25-30 min.
5. Allow brownies to cool completely in pan before slicing into 24 pieces w/a sharp knife.
6. To make stencil, use a utility knife to cut out a crescent-moon shape in a small piece of vellum. Place stencil over each brownie & sprinkle w/silver sanding sugar.
