Orange Almond Salad
By mrsmortician
Blend first nine ingredients together to make the salad dressing over lettuce
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. red wine vinegar
- 1/4 c. Dijon mustard
- 1 small onion, minced (I use green onions)
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 t. celery seed
- 1/2 t. paprika
- 1/4 t. pepper
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 can of mandarin oranges, drained
- slivered almonds
- spinach or red leafy lettuce
Strawberry Lettuce Salad

Saute pecans and 1/3 cup sugar over medium heat until carmelized (may need to add a few drops of water)
- 2 bags of Triple Hearts Salad Mix
- 3-4 green onions, sliced
- 2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 small pkg. chopped pecans
- 1/3 and 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon sour cream
- 2 Tablespoons vinegar
- 1/2 cup mayonaise
- 1 Tablespoon poppyseed
- 1/4 cup milk
Apple Pie

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- 5-7 apples, sliced thin and peeled
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 Tablespoon margarine
Broccoli Slaw

Stir together first 5 ingredients in a large bowl
- 1 (12-ounce) package fresh broccoli slaw
- 1 cup red seedless grapes, halved
- 1 Granny Smith apple, diced
- 1 cup Vidalia onion or poppy seed dressing
- 2 oranges, peeled and sectioned
- Toasted chopped pecans (optional)
Pear Cheese Salad

Toss pears with lemon juice
- 3 cups of pears, cored and cubed
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cup cubed cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced celery
- 1/2 cup coarsley chopped walnuts
- 2/3 cup mayonaise
- lettuce
Peanut Butter and Fudge Brownies with Salted Peanuts

Position rack in center of oven and reheat to 325 degrees
- 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter
- 7 oz. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1-1/2 c. sugar
- 1-1/2 t. vanilla extract
- 1/4 t. salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. roasted salted peanuts, coarsely chopped
- 1 c. chunky peanut butter (do not use natural or old-fashioned)
- 1 stick butter, divided, room temperature
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/8 t. salt
- 1/8 t. nutmeg
- 1 T. whole milk
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 7 oz. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped
Gingerbread Boys

Cream the butter and the sugar together
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tablespoons orange zest
- 2 tablespoons dark corn syrup
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Pineapple Casserole

Drain pineapple, reserving 6 T
- 2 15 oz. cans pineapple chunks
- 1 c. sugar
- 6 T. flour
- 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. melted butter (sometimes I use 1/2 stick)
- 1 c. cornflakes or Ritz crackers
Butterscotch Fruit Salad

"This is a wonderful yet simple sweet fruit salad
- 4 large apples, diced
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package butterscotch instant pudding mix
- 1 cup dry roasted peanuts
- 1 (15.25 ounce) can crushed pineapple, in juice
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
Peanut Butter Balls

Line cookie sheet with waxed paper
- 1-1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
- 1 t. vanilla
- 2 T. vegetable shortening
- 1/2 inch wax
- 1/2 c salted butter
- 1 pound confectioners sugar
- 1 pound semi-sweet chocolate chips
