Sides (Portugese White Beans)

Place the beans in a large bowl and add enough water to cover by 3 inches
- 1 pound navy beans, washed and sorted
- 1/4 pound bacon, diced
- 1 pound chorizo or linguica, sliced
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cups chicken stock or low-sodium canned chicken broth
- 4 cups water
- Salt
