- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3-4 Tb. cold water

- 1 c. sugar

- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 1 3/4 c. milk
- 3 Tb. butter
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 2 Tb. orange-flavored liqueur
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Meringue:
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. orange-flavored liqueur
