- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
