- 1 3/4 cups (8 3/4 oz) frozen mixed berries
- 3 Tablespoons confectioners' sugar
- 3 cups (15 oz) all-purpose flour
- 12 Tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-in pieces, chilled
- 1/3 cup (2 1/2 oz) granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 3/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons whole milk
- 1 large egg plus 1 large yolk
- GLAZE
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

- 2 c. whole milk (if you're in a pinch, you can use 2%, but whole is best. Don't use 1% or skim)

- 1/3 c. (5 1/3 Tbsp.) butter
- 2 tsp. Kosher salt
- 2 pkgs. active dry yeast (or 4 1/2 tsp.), preferably bread machine yeast
- 2/3 c. warm (105-115-degree) water
- 8-9 c. all-purpose flour
