Jalapeno-Cheddar Spoon Bread

1. Preheat oven to 350°F
- 3 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 jalapenos, seeded and diced
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

- Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk, scalded
- 1/2 lb. butter, melted or 1/2 butter/lard
- 3 lb. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 cup lukewarm water (105-115°F)
- 12 eggs
