- 3 cups (330 grams) confectioners (powdered or icing) sugar, sifted
- Royal Icing Using Meringue Powder:
- 4 cups (440 grams) confectioners' (powdered or icing) sugar
- 3 tablespoons (30 grams) meringue powder
- 1/2 teaspoon extract (vanilla, lemon, almond)
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup (120 - 180 ml) warm water

For the Filling: Put a large Dutch oven over medium heat

- 1/2 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf Parsley

- pinch of ground Cinnamon

- Pastry Dough for 2 (8-inch) double-crust pies (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 large Egg Yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon Milk
- For the Pastry Dough:
- 6 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 pound Unsalted Butter (cold; diced)

1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil
- 16 ounces ricotta, drained well
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs yolks
- 1/2 cup Parmigiano Reggiano, freshly grated
- 1 clove garlic, roasted plus to 2 cloves, smashed
- 10 to 12 basil leaves, roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pound large shrimp (31/35), peeled and deveined
- 2 large tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 bunch asparagus, cut into 1-inch lengths
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

- 1 1/2 cups of pitted medjool dates the medjools here are wonderful as they don't need any soaking -- however, make sure you check for worms and a black mold that I sometimes find.

- 1 tbsp (15 mL) baking powder
- 1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
- 1 cup (250 mL) chopped pecans
- Grated zest of 2 oranges
- 1 cup (250 mL) whole-berry cranberry sauce
- 2/3 cup (150 mL) freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup (50 mL) vegetable oil

- 3 cups Sir Lancelot Hi-Gluten Flour
- 3/4 cup Hi-maize Fiber*
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon Pizza Dough Flavor (optional, but delicious)
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water, enough to make a smooth, soft dough
- Hi-maize gives the crust an extra crisp bottom; if you don't have it, use a total of 3 3/4 cups high-gluten flour.
