- Filling:
- 1/3 cup of sweetened coconut
- 3/4 cup pecans and golden raisins

- 1 tablespoon heavy cream

- 1 teaspoon of corn starch
- 5 tablespoons of bourbon or whiskey
- 3/4 cup condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

Chipotle-Black Bean Chili Recipe

In a large bowl, combine the beans, tomatoes, onion, green pepper, chipotle peppers, adobo sauce and garlic
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) fire-roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, finely chopped
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons adobo sauce
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 boneless beef chuck roast (2 pounds), cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Optional toppings: shredded Monterey Jack cheese, reduced-fat sour cream, minced fresh cilantro and lime wedges

- 2 5- to 6-ounce cans chunk light tuna (see Notes), drained
- 1/3 cup low-fat mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce, such as Sriracha (see Notes)
- 1 scallion, chopped
- 2 cups cooked brown rice (see Tip), cooled
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 4 10-inch whole-grain wraps
- 3 cups watercress leaves
- 1 ripe avocado, cut into 16 slices

In a medium bowl, whisk together flours, baking powder, chia, and salt
- 1/2 cup superfine brown rice flour
- 1/4 cup chestnut flour
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/4 teaspoon chia seeds, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt, plus a pinch for egg whites
- 2 large eggs, yolks and whites separated, at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons cane sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (preferably homemade)
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Sauteed Plums: Makes about 2 cups ( Pears can be substituted for plums)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract or scraped vanilla bean
- 2 cardamom pods, crushed
- 1 pound plums, pitted and sliced into wedges
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Pinch fine-grain sea salt

- In a medium saucepan, warm butter over medium-high heat until it begins to brown, about 3 minutes. Add vanilla and cardamom, then remove from heat and stir. Let stand 10 minutes.

- 4 brown-and-serve sausage links
- 6 eggs

Chili Red Lentil Soup

Heat oil, a couple of turns of the pan, or butter in a soup pot over medium to medium-high heat

- 2 carrots, peeled and finely diced
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 Fresno chili pepper, unseeded, very thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon cumin, a scant palmful
- 1 tablespoon turmeric, a scant palmful
- 1 tablespoon coriander, a scant palmful
- 1 tablespoon ancho chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom, 1/3 palmful
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 1/2 cups red lentils
- 6 cups chicken or vegetable stock
- 1/2 pound spinach leaves, stemmed and coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup mint leaves, a couple of handfuls
- 1/4 cup cilantro leaves, a generous handful
- 1 cup thick Greek plain yogurt
- Plain or garlic Naan bread (available in packaged breads section of larger markets) or other flat bread brushed
- Melted butter, for brushing

- 3/4 lb frozen shrimp, defrosted
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 chopped red pepper
- 1 cup asparagus cut into bite size pieces
- 1/2 cup shelled edamame (frozen can be used)
- 3 tbsp Ponzu sauce
- 1 egg and 2 egg whites whisked together
- 2 cups quinoa cooked in water
