- 2 teaspoons black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves

- 1 teaspoon juniper berries
- 1 teaspoon crumbled whole mace
- 1 teaspoon dill seeds
- 4 dried bay leaves
- 1 small piece dried ginger

- 1 1/2 cups hot milk
- 3 tablespoons flour

Brown Sauce - Stir Fry

Mix all ingredients
- 1/2 C chicken broth
- 1 TBS cornstarch
- 1 TBS soy sauce
- 1 TBS hoison sauce
- 1 TBS chinese rice wine or dry sherry
SWEET AND SOUR PORK - Penzey's

In a zip-top bag or covered bowl, combine the pork strips, soy sauce, egg yolk and corn starch
- Sweet and Sour Sauce:
- 1 lb. pork loin, cut into thin strips
- 1-2 TB. soy sauce
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
- 2 TB. corn starch
- 1/3-1/2 Cup vegetable oil (Jim uses olive)
- 1 small can (8 oz.) pineapple rings (4 pineapple rings if using fresh)
- 1 Cup water
- 3 TB. ketchup
- 2 TB. vinegar
- 2 TB. sugar
- 2 tsp. sesame oil, divided
- 1 tsp. CHINESE FIVE SPICE POWDER (optional)
- 1 slice fresh ginger, shredded (or 1/2 tsp. POWDERED GINGER)
- 1/2 tsp. GROUND BLACK PEPPER
- 1 TB. corn starch
- 1 bell pepper, any color, chopped into slices

- 1 pound fresh rhubarb, chopped
- 2 pints fresh strawberries

- 2 tablespoons white sugar

- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon rum extract

- 2 1 ounce squares semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/3 cups unsweetened cocoa powder , divided usage
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 1/4 cup Sour Cream , divided usage
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
