Beef Stroganoff (MS thrifty)

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more as needed
- 1 pound top round steak, thinly sliced across the grain and cut into 1-inch pieces
- Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 10 ounces cremini mushrooms, wiped clean and sliced
- 1 large yellow onion, halved and thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups homemade or store-bought low-sodium beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 8 cups cooked warm egg noodles, for serving
- Chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, for serving (optional)
Buttermilk Blueberry Breakfast Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 tsp lemon zest or more - zest from 1 large lemon
- 7/8 cup sugar(3/4 cup plus 2 Tablespoons - 1 Tablespoon is for sprinkling on top)
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour (set aside 1/4 cup of this to toss with blueberries)
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 cups fresh blueberries

In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, cornstarch, sherry, brown sugar, ginger and garlic
- Ingredients
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons sherry
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound flank steak, trimmed of fat and sliced very thin against the grain
- 3 tablespoons peanut or olive oil
- 1 pound broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- Salt as needed (use sparingly)
