Ingredients
- 3 pounds stew beef
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1.5 cups beef stock
- 1 cup good red wine
- 1.5 cups water
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon minced roasted garlic
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon Greek seasoning
- 1 Dash ground allspice
- 3 packages of 16 oz beef stew vegetables (potatoes, pearl onions, carrots, peas, celery)
- 1 6oz. package of uncooked mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional for thicker stew)

Step 1
Brown meat in hot oil. Add beef stock, wine, water, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, bay leaves, onion, salt, sugar, pepper, paprika, and allspice. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Remove bay leaves. Add packages of stew vegetables and Greek seasoning. Cover and cook 30 to 40 minutes longer. Add mushrooms. Stir and cook until bubbly.
Serve over a broad flat noodle.
