Vegetable Beef Soup

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef (see tip)
- 1 (14.5 oz) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 cups water (or use beef broth if prefer)
- 1 (10 oz) package frozen mixed vegetables
- 1/4 cup dry onion soup mix

Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot over medium high heat, sauté the beef for about 5 minutes, or until browned. Drain off excess fat. Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, vegetables, soup mix and sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Tip: Add a bit of minced garlic and chopped onion when browning the ground beef.
