Ingredients

  • Sandwich:

    pd. ground beef

  • 1 1/2

    teas. Greek seasoning or 1/2 teas. each dried oregano, minced onion and majoram

  • 2

    cloves garlic, chopped

  • 2

    tab. lemon juice

  • 1/8

    teas. each salt and pepper

  • 4

    whole wheat pitas

  • 2

    cups leaf lettuce, shredded

  • 1/2

    cup feta cheese, crumbled

  • Sauce:

  • 1/2

    cucumber, grated

  • 1

    container (7oz. ) Greek 2% yogurt

  • 3

    tab. chopped mint

  • 2

    tab. lemon juice

  • 1/8

    teas. each salt and pepper

Directions

Sandwiches: Heat broiler. in a large bowl, combine ground beef, Greek seasoning, garlic, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Divide into 16 pieces, shaping into balls, and thread onto 2 to 3 metal skewers. Coat broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray; place skewers on pan. Set aside. Sauce: Squeeze excess water from cucumber in paper towels. In a small bowl, stir cucumber , yogurt, mint, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Set aside. Wrap pitas in foil and place in bottom of oven. Broil skewers for 4 minutes. Carefully flip over and broil and additional 3 minutes. Remove warmed pitas from oven. top each with some sauce, shredded lettuce, 4 pieces meat and 2 tab. feta cheese. 16 g. fat. 8 g. sat. fat
