Banana Cake With Cream Cheese frosting


Ultra moist, super delicious banana cake from recipe zaar. The cream cheese frosting is to die for. Best if stored in the refrigerator!

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/8 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • ~~~~
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (8oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Toasted Chopped walnuts, optional

Step 1

Preheat oven to 275.

Grease and flour 9X13 inch pan.

Cream 3/4 cup butter and 2 1/8 cup sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in mixer.

Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla.

Beat in the buttermilk.

Add mashed banana that have been mixed with lemon juice.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 1-1 1/2 hours

Remove from oven and place directly into freezer for 45 minutes.
(This will make the cake sooo very moist.)


Cream the butter and cream cheese until smooth.
Beat in one teaspoon of vanilla.

Add sugar and beat on low speed until combined,
then on high speed until frosting is smooth.

Spread on your cooled cake.
Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top if you desire.
