Ingredients
- 1 package Mild Italian Sausage links, raw
- 3 tbl extra virgin olive oil
- 1 can whole peeled tomatoes
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 large green bell peppers, thickly sliced
- 1 large onion, thickly sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 4 Italian Style hoagie rolls

Step 1
1. Cut sausage links in half lengthwise and place in large skillet with extra virgin olive oil and brown on all sides. Set sausage aside, reserving the pan drippings
2. In slow cooker add whole peeled tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, parmesan cheese, basil, all the seasonings and sugar, bell peppers and onions. Mix
3. Set sausages and pan drippings in the crock pot submerging them in the sauce.
4. Cook on low for 8 hours
5. Serve on toasted hoagie rolls and top with cheese.
