Ann's Tomato Basil Sauce with Pasta

Ingredients

  • 6 - 8 About 6 - 8 extra large tomatoes peeled and squeeze out seeds or 2 cans peeled plum tomatoes
  • Fresh basil
  • 4 leg pieces of garlic
  • 3/4 cup dry red wine
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt, red pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in pan
Brown garlic lightly. When brown, smash garlic in pan, add crushed tomatoes, basil, wine, salt and pepper. Simmer on medium heat for about 45 minutes or until it thickens slightly and tomatoes are tender.

Pour over pasta or mix in pan.

Use asiago cheese or regio parmigan
