Super Beefy Burgers


We choose buns that are made locally, are organic and whole grain. I also usually pull out most of the bread from by bun so it's more of a shell. I started this because Shaun makes such beefy burgers I need room for all my toppings while still being able to eat the burger :).

You could also do these wrapped in a big piece of crisp butter lettuce as a grain free delicious option.

  • 2 lbs GRASS-FED extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp braggs
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp organic yogurt (full fat)
  • 1/4 cup oats (non-gmo)
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • Toppings of your choice (we used grilled mushrooms and onions, organic old cheddar, dijon, spinach, tomato and pickles)



Step 1

Turn BBQ on to high heat.

Mix all ingredients (except toppings together), roll into balls and form into palm size patties.

Lightly grease grill with coconut oil or coconut-ghee.

Cook on LOW for 15 - 20 minutes until cooked thoroughly (time with depend on thickness)

Remove from grill and stack with your favorite toppings

Makes 6 - 8 burgers.
