Berry Jazz Independence Day Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 1 lb strawberries, washed and cut into small pieces
  • 1 container 1 container of blueberries
  • 1 pound 1 pound cake, sliced
  • or Vanilla wafers...enough to cover the bottom of the jelly roll pan
  • 1 tub 1 tub of cool whip, any variety you like or use spray on whipped cream
  • 6 oz. 6 oz. black raspberry jelly
  • 6 oz. 6 oz. red raspberry jam
  • Instead of the above two jams & jellies, you could add a package or two of frozen raspberries
  • 2 2 squirts of lemon juice
  • Sprinkling of cinnamon
  • Large Large Jelly-Roll Pan
  • Star-Shaped Cookie Cutter

Preparation

Step 1

Slice the pound cake into the thickness of bread and arrange all but one or two pieces on the bottom of a jelly roll pan.

Sprinkle berry juice or berry flavored liquor all over the sliced pound cake.

Cut the 1 or two slices of pound cake into stars using a cookie cutter.

Toast the stars in toaster oven.

Pipe several stripes of white whipped cream across the length of the pan.

Spoon the berry jazz in between the stripes of whipped cream.

Pile a mess of blueberries into the top left corner and sprinkle toasted pound cake stars onto the blue field.
