Ingredients

  • 1/2

    cup (1/4 lb.)butter or margerine, melted.

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 2

    eggs, lightly beaten

  • 1

    cup each mashed ripe bananas(about 3) and all-purpose flour

  • 1/2

    tsp salt

  • 1

    tsp baking soda

  • 1

    cup whole wheat flour

  • 1/3

    cup hot water

  • 1/2

    cup chopped walnuts

Directions

In as large bowl, stir together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and banana, blending until smooth. In another bowll, stir together all-purpose flour, salt baking soda, and whole wheat flour until thoroughly blended. Add to banana mixture alternatlely with hot water. Stir in nuts. Sp;oon batter into a greased 9 by 5-inch loaf pan. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 1 hour. If center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes; then turn our onto a rack and let cool completely.
