Beef Satay Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp table ground pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 6 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3/4 tsp chopped fresh thyme or 1/4 tsp dried thyme leaves
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound hanger or skirt steak, trimmed and sliced across the grain cut into 1- 1 1/2 inch strips
  • Bamboo skewers( soaked in water for 30 minutes) or metal skewers

Preparation

Step 1

1.Whisk together in a medium bowl; wine, pepper, slat, dijon mustard, soy sauce and garlic. Whisk oil gradually in mixture until smooth
2. Trim and cut steak in strips. Toss beef in oil mixture. Cover and chill in bowl or add beef mixture to a ziploc bag
3. Marinate for at least 4 hours
4.Thread beef strips onto skewers
5. Preheat grill to medium high. Cook beef to medium doneness 3-4 minutes per side.
