Ingredients

  • 2 cans (1 lb. 5 oz. each) cherry pie filling
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, in pieces
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • Light cream or half-and-half

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 400deg.
2. Spread pie filling over bottom of shallow 3 qt. baking dish covered with pie crust. Add sugar, water and salt. Slice butter on top of cherry mixture. Cover with top crust.

4. Bake in 400deg. Oven for 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm with cream or half-and-half.
