Ingredients
- 4-lb. roast of beef
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 Tbsp. honey
- 2 Tbsp. soya sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, dissolved in 2 Tbsp. water

Preparation
Step 1
Rub roast with mixture of garlic powder, mustard and pepper.
Heat a 6-quart roasting pan, add oil and brown roast well on all sides.
Combine water, honey, soya sauce, vinegar, celery seed and ginger and pour over meat.
Cover and roast at 325°F for 2 1/2 hours.
Transfer roast to heated platter and thicken gravy with cornstarch-water mixture.
