GF Tomato Sauce


If you can't eat commercial canned tomato sauce (it contains corn syrup), make your own with this easy recipe. You can "jazz" this recipe up with additional herbs and spices.

  • 2 T chopped onions
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) whole peeled tomatoes or 4 large peeled fresh tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar or honey (optional)
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper


Servings 1
Preparation time 30mins


Step 1

Puree all ingredients in blender until very smooth. Place in small saucepan, and cook over low-medium heat for 20 - 25 minutes or until desired consistency. Makes 1 cup, equivalent to one 8-ounce can of commercial canned tomato sauce.
