Ingredients

  • 6 Tbs butter
  • 4 Tbs flour
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 pint beef broth
  • 1 , 8oz package of mushrooms, sliced
  • 5 green onions, chopped
  • 2 Tbs white or dry wine (optional)
  • Seasoning mix of choice
  • Kitchen Bouquet

Step 1

1. Melt butter and add flour slowly. Make a buttery roux but do not brown. Add onions and saute until soft

2. Add beef broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer briefly.
3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer an additional 10 mins.
4. The mushrooms may thin the gravy as it cooks. To thicken, make a flour-water paste and add a spoon at a time to the gravy. If gravy is too light in color, add from 1/2 to 1 cap Kitchen Bouquet.
