Italian Sausage & Peppers

Ingredients

  • 2 T. vegetable oil
  • 1 package Johnsonville Mild Italian Sausage
  • 1 green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 T. tomato paste
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Preparation

Step 1

Add oil to large pan & heat on medium-high. Add sausages & cook until browned on all sides. Remove sausage from pan, set aside.

Add onion & peppers to pan & cook until softened. Add garlic & cook 1 more minute.

Slice sausge into 1 inch pieces. Return sausage to pan along with the rest of the ingredients. Cook 10 minutes or until sausage is cooked through & sauce is thickened.

Serve on hoagie rolls if desired.
