Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1 cup sliced onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 4 cups water
- 1 14-oz can tomatoes
- 1 cup lentils, rinsed and drained
- 3 tsp beef granules
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup thinly sliced carrots
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Peel of small lemon cut in very thin strips (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Saute onions in oil. Add garlic, cook until tender. Add next 4 ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Add carrots and lemon juice, cook 30 minutes longer or until carrots are tender. Season to taste. Garnish with parsley and lemon peel.
