Ingredients
- 2 sweet italian sausage links, casings removed
- 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
- 1/2 medium onion chopped
- 2-1/4 c biscuit mix (like bisquick)
- 1 t dried italian herb blend
- 2/3 c milk
- 1/2 c tomato sauce
- 2 c shredded pepper jack cheese

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 9x13 baking pan with cooking spray.
In a large nonstick skillet, cook sausage, bell pepper and onion until sausage is browned and vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. Drain off fat.
In a large bowl, whisk together biscuit mix and herbs. Add milk and stir gently, just until combined. Spread dough in bottom of prepared pan.
Spread tomato sauce over biscuit dough. Scatter meat mixture over tomato sauce. Sprinkle cheese over top.
Bake until crust is crisp on the bottom and cooked through and cheese is melted, 12-15 minutes.
