Herbed Turkey Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
- 3/4 pound ground turkey
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium carrot, chopped fine
- 2 teaspoons oregano
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 796 milliliters canned tomatoes, undrained
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in a large non-stick saucepan over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey. Cook, breaking up meat and mixing well until turkey is no longer pink inside.
Add garlic, onion, carrot and all dry seasonings. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes, mixing thoroughly until onion softens.
Add tomatoes, ketchup, worcestershire sauce and bay leaf. Mix well, breaking up pieces of tomato into smaller chunks. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes. Add cheese and parsley. Mix well.
Cover and cook about 5 minutes, just until cheese is melted and sauce thickens. Remove bay leaf before serving.
