Ingredients

  • Sauce:

    cup brown sugar

  • 1/4

    cup flour

  • 1/4

    teaspoon salt

  • 1

    teaspoon vinegar

  • 1

    cup water

  • Cook over low heat until thick - Cool

    teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2

    teaspoon nutmeg

    teaspoon vanilla

    teaspoons butter

    tart apples, peeled and sliced

Directions

Peel and slice apples - fill dish a 9 x 13 pan with desired amount-be generous - at least 3/4 full. Pour sauce over all apples. Make topping: 1 cup sifted flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup butter 2 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Combine all topping ingredients and mix with a fork until crumbly - top apples with topping - make a few big crumbs. Then melt butter - drizzle gently over all the toppings. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon - sprinkle over topping. Bake 350-375 for 35-40 minutes or until done.
