Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Tennessee Pride Sausage
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • 28 oz. crushed tomatoes
  • 12 oz. tomatoe paste
  • 16 oz. tomatoe sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 16 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups mozzerlla cheese
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 4 Tbsp. parsley

Preparation

Step 1

Cook sausage, onion and garlic in a skillet. Stir in tomatoes. Add seasonings and cover for approximately 1 1/2 hrs stirring occasionally. Cook noodles and rinse with cold water. Combine ricotta, egg, nutmeg, parsley, salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a deep 13 x 9 dish, layer sauce, lasagna, ricotta, mozzerella, sauce, parmesan. Bake 25 min

Note- Soak noodles for 30 min in baking dish instead of fully cooking.
