Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can (2cups) tomatoes
  • dash Tabasco
  • 1 8 oz. can seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 12 oz. raw shrimp
  • 1/2 cup green pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cook onion, celery, garlic in hot oil until tender, but not brown. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer uncovered 45 min. Mix cornstarch with 2 tsp. water. Stir into sauce. Cook and stir until mixture thickens. Add shrimp and green peppers. Cover and simmer until done. About 5 min.
