Spicy basil beef salad

Ingredients
- 1 T canola oil
- 12 oz hanger steak
- 1/4 t kosher salt
- 1/2 t pepper
- 3 T lower sodium soy sauce
- 2 T rice vinegar
- 2 T minced fresh lemongrass
- 1 T dark sesame oil
- 2 t fish sauce
- 2 t chile paste (huy gong sambal oelek)
- 1 1/2 cups loosely packed fresh basil
- 1 c thinly sliced English cucumber
- 3 large heirloom tomatoes cut into wedges
- 2 medium shallots

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 425
Heat stainless steel skillet over med-high heat add oil
Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper
Add steak to pan sauté 5 minutes or until browned, turn
Bake at 425 for 8 minutes or until temp in 135
Let stand 10 minutes
Slice across grain
Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, lemongrass, sesame oil, fish sauce, and chile paste, stir
Combine basil add remaining ingredients. Drizzle dressing over basil mixture
