Super Secret Sausage Gravy

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 tsp powdered beef stock
  • 3 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cayenne (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp powdered garlic (optional)

Step 1

Serve 4-6 (or 2 hungy bikers)In a large skillet, fry off the bacon and reserve the grease to a bowl (serve the bacon on the side with breakfast)
Cook sausage with a small amount of chicken stock or water to help break down the fat and allow sausage to cook into little pieces
Add bacon grease back to pan with sausage
Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and powdered beef broth to make your roux
Be sure to cook it at least 2 minutes stirring constantly, to get the ‘raw flour’ taste out
Gradually stir in milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened.
Serve over biscuits
