  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless pork sirloin roast
  • MARINADE
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons chinese wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon chinese five spice

Preparation

Step 1

Cut roast in half lengthwise, but not quite through to the other side. Press open to flatten. Make shallow diagonal cuts across both sides at 3/4" intervals. Repeat in opposite direction form diamond pattern. Place in a large zip-lock bag.

Combine all marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Pour over roast. Stir to coat. Marinate overnight turning several times.

Drain marinade into small saucepan. Bring to a boil, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes until reduced by half and slightly thick.

Preheat barbeque to medium heat. Place roast on greased grill. Close lid. Cook for about 40 minutes, turning several times and brushing with marinade until done. Cover with foil and let stand 10 minutes. Slice thinly on the diagonal.
