Ingredients

  • 2 lg onions
  • 2 lb steak.
  • oil
  • tomato juice
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worchestershire suace
  • dash of Tobasco
  • salt
  • pepper
  • paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 5 Tbsp flour and water to make a paste
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms,lightly sauted
  • 1 pint sour ceam
  • 1 or 2 cans fried onions

Preparation

Step 1

Cut frozen steak into strips approx 1/8 x 2"
Saute onions,then steak in shortening and put in a deep pot
Add tomato juice to cover,seasonings and sauces
Let bubble up and cook slowly about 1 hour
This may be done a day ahead
When ready to serve heat meat mixture and thicken with flour paste
Add mushroms and sour cream,but do not boil
Serve with rice or noodles and fried onions
