Baked Macaroni and Cheese

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 ounces Cheddar cheese grated 2 cups

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cook macaroni and drain. Meanwhile, melt butter in medium saucepan and remove from heat. Stir in the flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually stir in milk. Bring to boil, stirring. Reduce heat and simmer mixture 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese and macaroni. Pour into 1 1/2 - quart casserole and sprinkle remaining cheese over top. bake 15 - 20 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
