Ingredients
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2 pcs (2 1/2 to 3 cups)
- 1 1/2 cups fat-free milk
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup uncooked steel-cut oats
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. ground flax seed
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Optional garnish: chopped nuts, raisins, maple syrup, additional milk

Preparation
Step 1
Coat inside of slow cooker with cooking spray. Add all ingredients except optional garnish to slow cooker. Stir, cover, and cook on low for approx. 7 hours( may vary). Spoon into bowls and add garnish.
Can be doubled in a large cooker. This recipe is good for a small cooker 2/3 quarts.
