Ingredients

  • 5 apples (cortlands) peeled and cut up
  • 5 T. sugar
  • 1 T. cinnamon
  • 1 T. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 T. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 T. baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease and flour bundt pan or tube pan.

1. In a medium bowl mix together apples, 5 T. sugar, 1 T. cinnamon and
1 T. flour

2. In another bowl mix together eggs, orange juice, oil and vanilla extract.

3. In another bowl mix together sugar, flour and baking powder.

Mix together # 2 and #3.
Pour a little batter in the bottom of the greased and floured pan. Layer apple mixture with batter until pan is full .
Cook the cake in preheated oven with a cookie sheet underneath cake pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This is a very moist cake , so it is better to almost overcook cake.
Cool cake upright on cooking rack.
slide a knife around the edge of pan and flip cake over on a plate. Let cool at least and hour before cutting
