Ingredients
- Enough for 10-15 hearty men
- (24) 8" Low fat sausage without preservatives - from the Beckwith Butcher in Carleton Place
- 1-2 medium size Red and green sweet peppers
- 1 large (chopped) Red onion
- 1 bunch of green onions
- 1 leek coarsely chopped
- 1 cup of White and brown mushrooms
- 1 cup of Dried prunes and apricots
- 1 cup of pure organic juice (I prefer dark red cherry)
- 4-6 cloves garlic (chopped)
- Grind to fine - peppercorns, fennel seed, cumin seeds, anise, cilantro, turmeric
- Red chilies - 1 small (chopped fine)
- Water - 3/4 cup
- Olive Oil - 1 tbsp
- Peppercorns - 1 tablespoon
- Fennel seed - 1 tsp
- Anise seedbed- 1 tsp
- Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Ground turmeric - 1 pinch
- Cilantro - 2 tbsp (chopped)
- Optional: ripe tomatoes, fresh green beans, and 1 tsp of ground cloves

Preparation
Step 1
Brown the sausages, let cool then cut into thirds. Load all ingredients into a suitable slow cooker. Cook on high for 1-2 hours. Cook 8-12 hours on low
