Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 Tbsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp rum or whiskey
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Fat for frying
- Confecioners' sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Gradually add sugar beating constantly. Beat until light and fluffy. Combine and sift flour and salt, add alternately with sour cream to egg yolk mixture. Add vanilla, rum and lemon zest. Knead dough 15 minutes or until it doesn't stick to your hands.
Chill.
Roll to tissue-paper thinness, turning and lifting the dough frequently.Cut into strips 1 1/2 by 4 inches. Slit in the middle and bring one end through the slit. Fry in deep fat:350 degrees
until golden brown, turning only once.
Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
