Sugar- Frosted Apple Pie

  • 8 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 t. lemon juice
  • 4 T. flour
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • sugar
  • ground cinnamon
  • 1 T. butter
  • milk

Step 1

Peel core and thinly slice apples; sprinkle with lemon juice. In a large bowl with rubber spatula, lightly toss the apples, flour, salt, 2 cups of sugar, and 3/4 t cinnamon; set aside. Mix the apples and flour mixture together. Prepare the pie crust and spoon the apples mixture in to pie shell. Dot with butter and set aside. Preheat oven to 425; put the other pie shell on top of the apple mixture. Trim; lightly brush top of pie with milk, mix 1 T of sugar and 1/8 t of cinnamon; sprinkle over pie. Place on cookie sheet and bake 45 min.
