German Apple Pancake

A great pancake for breakfast or dessert. My sister and I ordered this at Millie's Pancake House in Walworth, Wisconsin. This one's for you, Cheryl.
Ingredients
- Pancake:
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 c milk
- 3/4 c flour
- 1/2 teas salt
- 1 1/2 T butter
- 1/2 c thinly sliced apples
- Filling:
- 1 lb tart fresh apples
- 1/4 c melted butter
- 1/4 c sugar
- cinnamon
- nutmeg
- Topping:
- 2 T melted butter
- powdered sugar for dusting

Step 1
Preheat oven to 450
Pancake: Beat together eggs, milk, flour and salt until smooth. Add apples. In a 12" skillet melt 1 1/2 T butter in oven. Pour in batter and put in oven after 15 minutes lower oven to 350 and bake for another 10 min. If pancake puffs up, pierce with a fork.
While pancake is baking, peel and slice apples, saute them in 1/4 c butter and 1/4 c sugar. Season with cinnamon and nutmeg. The apples should be tender not soft 8 to 10 minutes.
When the pancake is ready, slide it onto a plate and pour filling over one side of it. Fold it over and dust with powdered sugar.
