Preparation

Step 1

Cook sausage and chopped onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender but not brown. Drain the mixture well. Stir in the chopped apple, raisins, tomato sauce and cinnamon.

Make pastry dough or unroll refrigerator dough. Roll dough and cut into 7 inch rounds. Place 1/2 cup of the turnover filling in center of each circle. Fold the pastry over turnover filling forming a half moon shape. Moisten the edges and seal by pressing with the tines of a fork. Cut slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape. Brush the pastry lightly with milk. Transfer to unprepared baking sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 45 - 50 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Serve hot with preferred condiments.
