Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. cooking apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. firmly baked light brown sugar
  • 1/2 t. nutmeg
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. butter

Preparation

Step 1

Put apples in shallow greased 2 qt. casserole. Add water. Combine sugars, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and flour. Cut in butter with pastry blender. Spoon evenly over apples. Cover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 30 minutes longer.

I may leave out the water.
