Ingredients

  • 2 medium carrrots, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 7-14 oz can tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 tsp celery seed
  • 1/2 tsp worchestershire sauce, or more
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or more
  • snipped chives

Preparation

Step 1

In 3 quart saucepan cook carrots and onion in butter till onion is tender, but not brown. Blend in flour. Add milk and chicken broth. Cook and still till thickened and bubbly. Stir in tuna, celery seed, worchestershire sauce, and salt. Heat through. Add cheese; heat and stir till cheese is melted. Garnish with snipped chives.
